The present invention provides a digital camera comprising a planar image display device, a camera body coupled to an end of the image display device, and a printer device coupled to another end of the image display device. In the digital camera, the camera body and/or the printer device can store the image display device, and the camera body and the printer device can be coupled to each other through a coupling device when the image display device is stored.

The digital camera comprises a setting processor that sets a plurality of steps for first and second parameters, a first bracket processor that obtains a plurality of intermediate images of the object based on each the step of the first parameter, and a second bracket processor that obtains a plurality of photograph images from each of the intermediate images based on each step of the second parameter.

Digital Camera Abstract
In one embodiment a method and apparatus is provided for a digital camera controlled by a remote computer. The remote computer commands the digital camera as to when to take pictures, how long to pause before taking subsequent pictures, and when to stop taking pictures. The digital camera senses current photographic conditions, which are later requested by the remote computer. Based upon the digital camera’s current photographic conditions, the remote computer calculates the appropriate exposure parameters for the digital camera and commands the digital camera to set its exposure parameters accordingly. After a picture is taken, the picture is stored as image data in volatile memory in the digital camera. The image data is then transferred to the remote computer for compression and storage in the remote computer’s non-volatile memory. The remote computer subsequently encodes the stored image data into a time-lapse video file.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a digital camera and a portable telephone equipped with a digital camera in which while a user views one monitor screen, the user can selectively photograph an image located in the side of the face of the user and an image located in an opposite side to the face of the user without turning out the digital camera or the portable telephone having the digital camera under a state that the user holds the digital camera or the portable telephone having the digital camera. The digital camera and the portable telephone having the digital camera of the present invention include a first camera mounted on a first surface of a casing member, a second camera mounted on a second surface in the back side of the first surface of the casing member and a camera selecting unit for selecting a photographing camera. Thus, while the user holds the portable telephone having the camera, the user can photograph the face of the user himself or herself by the first camera, can photograph a scene viewed by the user himself or herself by the second camera or can photograph both the face and the scene at the same time. Further, a synthesizing unit is provided for synthesizing the images respectively photographed by the first camera and the second camera. Accordingly, a synthesized photograph obtained by synthesizing both the images can be taken or after the images are photographed, the images can be synthesized.

A digital camera that provide for an efficient technique for locating photographs stored in a data storage device. The digital camera comprises a display, a memory device for storing digital photographs, a navigation device, and processing circuitry coupled to the display, memory device and navigation device. Firmware runs on the processing circuitry and implements a user interface in conjunction with the navigation device and display. The firmware displays a bar graph and a marker on the display identifying the relative location of a currently displayed photograph, and configures the navigation device to selectively move the marker left and right along the bar graph to locate photographs stored in the memory device.

A digital camera includes a photoflash lamp, an ambient light sensor generating a signal representative of an ambient light level proximate the digital camera, and a photoflash controller. The photoflash controller may be capable of receiving the signal from the ambient light sensor and a host signal from a main controller of the digital camera. The photoflash controller may also be capable of being enabled by the host signal, and, when enabled, the photoflash controller may be capable of controlling a light output of the photoflash lamp in response to at least the ambient light level when a user of the digital camera utilizes a shutter-release button of the digital camera to instruct the digital camera to take a picture.

The camera body has a shake detector detecting a camera shake on the digital camera and outputting a shake detection signal, a blur compensator compensates for a blur, due to the camera shake, of a subject light image projected onto an image capturing surface of an image sensor provided in the camera body, based on an inputted blur compensation amount, a focal length deriver obtaining an overall focal length of the image taking optical system, by use of the information on the focal length obtained from the lens unit, and a blur compensation controller deriving the blur compensation amount for compensating for the blur based on the overall focal length of the image taking optical system and the shake detection signal, and outputting the blur compensation amount to the blur compensator.
