A digital camera including a detecting system to detect a vibration that occurs in a camera body, an image capturing element drive system, which is adapted to adjust a position of an image capturing element based on an amount of the vibration detected with respect to an optical axis of the camera body is provided. The image capturing element drive system includes a substrate, of which surface is perpendicular to the optical axis, an image capturing element board, which has the image capturing element thereon and is adapted to be driven in parallel with the surface of the substrate with a plurality of rolling support systems provided to the image capturing element board, a biasing system, which is adapted to bias the image capturing element board in a predetermined direction, and a drive system, which is adapted to drive the image capturing element board against biasing force of the biasing system.

An inkjet printer is provided which is dimensioned to be at least partially received within a memory card slot of a digital camera. The printer has media and ink supplies, a pagewidth inkjet printhead having ink ejection nozzles for ejecting ink from the ink supply onto media from the media supply, a feed mechanism for feeding the media from the media supply to the printhead, a distribution arrangement for distributing the ink from the ink supply to the printhead, and a controller arranged to be operatively connected to the image record apparatus via an interface of the memory card slot when the printer is received in the memory card slot. The controller controls operation of the printhead in response to signals communicated from the digital camera via the memory card slot interface.

Smear detect circuitry within an analog front end (AFE) of a digital camera determines when black area pixel values received from an image sensor are indicative of smear leakage. Smear leakage can cause a light vertical line in the resulting digital image. When a sensor that is coupled to a storage element is exposed to a bright light source, storage element overload can cause a leakage charge to leak from the storage element to other storage elements along a transfer line. Smear detect circuitry identifies the transfer line exhibiting smear leakage and excludes pixel values from storage elements along that transfer line from the calculation of a black level value used to calibrate color pixel values. The digital camera displays a smear icon indicating smear leakage in a digital image that is to be taken. A digital file of the digital image includes a header with a smear detect field.

The display unit displays a selection screen on which a predetermined number of selection candidates are aligned, and identifies and displays the predetermined selection target of the predetermined number of selection candidates. The display control unit controls the transition direction of an identification display target on the basis of the rotational direction of the rotary member, identifies and displays an immediately succeeding selection candidate of the predetermined selection candidate on the basis of the first rotational speed of the rotary member, and identifies and displays an at least second succeeding selection candidate of the predetermined selection candidate on the basis of the second rotational speed of the rotary member.

A digital camera 100 includes an imaging device having a plurality of unit cells, each generating and accumulating therein a piece of luminance information in accordance with an amount of received light. The imaging device comprises: a receiving unit 103 operable to receive a shooting instruction from outside; an all-reset unit 104 operable to simultaneously reset all the unit cells in response to the shooting instruction while a light-shielding gate is open; a light-shielding unit 101 operable to close the light-shielding gate to simultaneously block light incident on all the unit cells when, after the all-reset unit resets all the unit cells, a total length of periods for which the light-shielding gate has been open reaches an exposure time; and a reading unit 105 operable to sequentially read pieces of the luminance information from all the unit cells while the light-shielding gate is closed.

A solid-state image pickup element is mounted on a digital camera. The solid-state image pickup element has: first color pixels which detect an amount of incident light of a first color of the three primary colors; second color pixels which detect an amount of incident light of a second color; third color pixels which detect an amount of incident light of a third color; and luminance detection pixels which are adjacent to the color pixels, respectively, and which detect luminance information. In the digital camera, when data of a reduced image in which the resolution is more reduced than the resolution of all the pixels of the solid-state image pickup element are to be produced, data of each of the color pixels (R, G, B), and data of one or more of the luminance detection pixels (Y) which are adjacent to the color pixel are added together. A signal processing is applied to the added data to reproduce a photographed image.
